September 8, 2011 (New York) - LA Weekly Presents: Fountain LA 2011. Fountain, an independent art fair with a relentless appetite for raw, in your face, progressive art, hits the sun soaked streets of LA this month in collaboration with Lot 613 and Premiere Events.  Just minutes away from Art Platform, Pulse, Art LA and the buzzing downtown community, Fountain will deliver a refreshing burst of energy with an unrestrained exhibition of alternative artist, galleries, artist collectives, street art installations and live performances in an impressive 11,000 sq. ft. venue.

Fountain’s west coast invasion goes full throttle thanks to presenting sponsor LA Weekly. Also on board are media sponsors Juxtapoz, Brooklyn Street Art, American Contemporary Art and Dig In Magazine.  Showcasing a varied collection of returning Fountain favorites and promising new comers, Fountain LA is thrilled to introduce several west coast galleries to its roster including CHALK, Ever Gold and HungryMan.  Returning artist Evo Love will grace us with her mesmerizing assemblage of treasures and tchotchkes, and Danni Rash is prepared to brandish his colorful and impeccably iconic satire.  Fountain veterans also include innovative Christina Ray Gallery, trashy-chic Cheap & Plastique, tenaciously bold Tinca Art and the ever notorious Murder Lounge.

Fountain Art Fair was founded in 2006 as an attempt to leverage support for smaller independent galleries to gain access to larger collectors and critics. Since its inception, Fountain has held five exhibitions in Miami, one in Chicago, and six in New York. From its roots deep within the independent Williamsburg art scene, Fountain has grown to represent over 20 international avant-garde galleries and projects, showcasing progressive primary-market works.
